An Unusual Site in November

The record-breaking heat we’ve experienced well after summer’s end has prolonged an interesting combination that has endured beyond expectations: late-season pepper plants with plenty of peppers on them and even the occasional okra plants with pods stand in a number of the gardens’ plots, while in nearby plots are thriving chard, kale and lettuce plants. Gardens are such interesting indicators of conditions around us. But if you have the cool-season varieties in your plot, you might want to invest now in some floating row cover to protect them once freezing conditions arrive.
